Momentum is the membership body that represents Northern Ireland's digital sector with the overall goal of sustaining and growing the industry. Momentum's membership comprises affiliates, educators, government, micro, small and medium sized enterprises and major multinationals. Momentum's aim is to create 20,000 jobs in the local [information technology] IT sector by 2018. It is proposed that this can only be achieved by working to ensure continuity of demand for the region's 'knowledge economy' and in particular the digital sector, whilst ensuring that the skills pool continues to be populated to meet the growing demand. This document outlines Momentum's vision for Northern Ireland to become a leader in the provision of digital technologies and services, developing a collaborative, self-sustaining digital community and eco-system where both large international and local indigenous companies can find mutual commercial advantage, and with the capacity to provide long standing career opportunities.
